Work Groups
IEEE AI Education Work Group
The Education Work Group of the IEEE AI Coalition is focused on advancing the understanding and responsible integration of artificial intelligence within professional and workplace learning contexts.
IEEE AI Hardware & Infrastructure Working Group (AI HW & Infra WG)
Advancing AI hardware and infrastructure for a scalable, efficient, and secure future.
IEEE PES AIC Work Groups
IEEE PES AI for Power Systems Coordinating Committee (AIPSCC)
The IEEE PES AI for Power Systems Coordinating Committee (AIPSCC) is a coordinating committee of the IEEE Power & Energy Society. Our members are industry leaders, practitioners, students, and academics with a shared professional interest in applying artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data-driven analytics to electric power and energy systems. The AIPSCC brings together experts from across the power sector to explore, evaluate, and promote AI-based solutions that enhance the efficiency, reliability, resilience, and sustainability of the grid. We serve as a hub for collaboration between researchers, system operators, technology developers, and policymakers to advance both the science and practice of AI in power systems.
IEEE PES Intelligent Systems Subcommittee
The Intelligent System Applications (ISA) Subcommittee investigates the development and applications of intelligent system methodologies and tools for problem-solving in power system engineering.
IEEE Task Force on Advanced Intelligence Techniques for Resilient Power System Restoration
The TF aims to identify suitable advanced artificial intelligence (AI) for the power system restoration (PSR) process and help researchers apply AI techniques in building resilient power systems.
IEEE Task Force on Foundational Models for Situational Awareness, Computation, and Analysis
The missions of this task force are: Promote knowledge exchange on foundation models and their applications for grid analysis and computation; Foster collaboration among researchers through webinar, panel session engagements; Discuss and document advancements and usage of this technology through technical report(s) and papers. The task force is technical focused and adopts vendor-neutral principle.
IEEE Task Force on Reinforcement Learning for Power System Dynamic Controls
The task force on Reinforcement Learning for Power System Dynamic Control (RLPSDC) aims to study the reinforcement learning (RL) for dynamic controls of power systems.
IEEE WG on Machine Learning for Power Systems
The Working Group (WG) on Machine Learning for Power Systems (MLPS) is the professional home for researchers and engineers involved in the application of the latest machine learning techniques for the operation and planning of power systems.
IEEE-USA Artificial Intelligence Policy Committee (AIPC)
The AIPC — which works to ensure effective federal laws, regulations, and R&D resources — brings together IEEE members with experience and expertise in artificial intelligence (AI) systems. The AIPC represents IEEE in the United States by advocating for the legislative and regulatory needs of IEEE’s members using Board-adopted positions that reflect a consensus viewpoint of IEEE’s U.S.-based membership. The position statements guide IEEE’s advocacy efforts in federal agency rulemaking, notice-and-comment letters, and lobbying efforts with Congress and the Administration.
The committee is currently at capacity and not seeking new members. You may also visit this page to view all public policy communications — letters to the Hill, responses to federal agency/White House requests for info (RFIs) and requests for comments (RFCs).
